| High School Filmmaking Contest |

Presented by the Bi-National Film Festival and CHANNEL 26 & CHANNEL FOX 14
What is El Paso to you? / Que es El Paso para ti?
These are actually two contests, since one is in English and another one will be in Spanish.
This is a short-video contest for High School students where they will film and edit a short that will show what El Paso is to them (a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 8). The two first prizes are: Two video cameras, plus an All-Access Pass, for the winners and their Parents, to the Binational Independent Film Festival dinners and screenings. The presentation of the winners will be done during the actual festival week.
Submission deadline: December 10th
Entries delivered to respective stations.

| SXSW 2009 Film Festival Call For Entries |

We want to see your film! Early Deadline November 14, 2008. Final deadline December 12, 2008.
The SXSW 2009 "Call for Entries" is now open. Filmmakers are invited to submit their new works to the annual festival, which has become an international destination for cinematic discovery. Submissions can only be entered via the official SXSW website: http://sxsw.com/film. Complete submission rules and regulations are available on that site. The early deadline for submissions is November 14, 2008 and the final deadline is December 12, 2008. SXSW considers any and all categories of filmmaking, from Narrative to Documentary, Experimental to Music Video, Short to Feature. The festival will announce its complete film lineup in early February 2009. |

The White Sands International Film Festival is now accepting entries into the 2009 competitive
program being held April 23-26th, 2009. Four categories for entry include Narrative, Documen-
tary, Latino Film Showcase and New Mexico Film Showcase. Films shot in New Mexico will
receive a waived entry fee. Cash prizes and or special jury awards will be given to winners of
each category. |

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival is thrilled to announce its "Call for Entries" for the 2009 event, taking place March 13-21, 2009 in Austin, Texas. In addition, the
SXSW Film Festival has announced the winners for the 5th annual SXSWclick Festival, presented by Boston University Department of Film and Television.

Located in the Rio Grande Valley, McAllen is the heart of South Texas. In an area rich in culture, McAllen showcases diversity in art and all its forms. The McAllen Art & Film Festival is a competitive festival created to pay tribute to the art of film and its makers.
For two full days in October, the McAllen Art & Film Festival will screen independent features, shorts, documentaries, and every type of film under the Texas sun.

| LATINO PUBLIC BROADCASTING 2008 OPEN CALL |

Open Call is an open invitation to independent producers to submit proposals for a public television program or series on any subject that relates to or is representative of Latino Americans.
Programs should bring new audiences to public television and have a recognizable impact on a broad range of viewers, presenting a range of subjects, viewpoints and forms from a variety of Latino producers across the country that complement and challenge existing public television offerings.
LPB funding will average between $5,000 and $100,000 for programs of most genres, including drama, comedy, animation, documentary, or mixed genre. LPB will consider funding projects at any production stage. LPB Funding for each stage ranges as follows:
- Research and Development $5,000 - $20,000
- Production $25,000 - $100,000
- Post-Production $25,000 - $100,000
- Outreach $10,000-$25,000

| SXSWclick Festival |

AusThe South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference & Festival is pleased to announce the call for entries for its 5th annual SXSWclick Festival. SXSWclick is a summertime, digital shorts event hosted
at: http://sxswclick.com. Winners in each of the five categories will automatically be invited to screen at the next SXSW Film Festival, scheduled for March 13-21, 2009 in Austin, TX.
The call for entries has started, and the final submission deadline is June
13, 2008. Submissions can be entered here: http://sxswclick.com/enter/ and
projects cannot exceed 10 minutes in length. Fifteen finalists will be
announced in five categories on June 24, with the winners announced on July
15. There will be audience votes and jury prizes. Some of the jurors already
confirmed, include: actor Jeffrey Tambor, comedians Eugene Mirman and Doug
Benson, filmmakers Ron Mann, Anish Savjani, Mary Sweeney, and many more.
